Head lice are a parasite, for this reason they cannot survive away from their host. Therefore is a guaranteed way to kill head lice.
To ensure complete eradication of head lice the parasite must be removed from the host. This can be done by using a nit comb and removing all lice and their eggs from the scalp. This can be quite a tedious task as the nits are minute and are secured tightly to the hair shaft and you will need to repeat the process every few days to ensure all have been removed.
